Adam El wins in Houston

HOUSTON – Adam El Mihdawy of the United States snapped a 4-4 tie in the third set wth a service break and then held serve to down Germany’s Lukas Finzelberg 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 and capture the singles title at the Texas Tamale Company Houston Cup held at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice University on Sunday. 

El Mihdawy who has spent most of the last two years playing overseas including a pair of USTA Pro Circuit events in Mexico earlier this year, started fast against Finzelberg to take the first set and ultimately win the tournament.
