Nika Wins FET Title in Ecuador
Danilo Carrera (i), president of the Ecuadorian tennis, Nika Kukharchuk, winner of the tournament, and former player Miguel Olvera.
Loriet Pro Team Player Nika Kukharchuk won the FET Women's Professional Circuit title, which distributed $15,000 in prizes and 12 WTA points.
In the final played at the Ecuadorian National Tennis Center, Nika won in 6 sets, 6-0, 2-6 and 6-2 over American Sofia Sewing. The match took 2 hours and 18 minutes and Nika had 3 aces.
After the event was the award ceremony, which was attended by the president of the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation, Danilo Carrera; former player, Miguel Olvera; the ITF supervisor, Carlos Niemes; and, the director of the tournament, Bedia Añazco.
Before the final match was played a doubles exhibition by players form the Ecuador Davis Cup team and Nicolás Lapentti.
