The tournament was held on the clay courts of the Club Deportivo Potosino and marks the 63rd anniversary of the longest held tournament in Latin America. Throughout the Finals, Hans Hach Verdugo received enthusiastic support from the Mexican crowd. Hans followed his performance in Mexico with another doubles Final in Huelva, Spain. Loriet Player Adam El Mihdawy wins his 10th career title at the International Tennis Open Zapopan 2016. Adam (USA) won in 3 sets against Luis Patiño (MEX) in an exciting match at the Club Atlas Colomos. The first set went to Adam 6-2. Luis, who has been selected to play Davis Cup for his country, won the second set 6-3. Adam claimed the final set 6-4 and the 10th title of his career. During the trophy ceremony both players thanked the tournament organizers and the great tennis fans of Guadalajara.
